LEGO TWP. FIRE DEPT. FALLEN FIREFIGHTERS' MEMORIAL

The Lego Township Fire Department proudly announces that the Lego Township Fire Department Fallen Firefighters' Memorial has been completed and is permanently on display at Firefighters' Memorial Park, adjacent to Station 6.  The Memorial was dedicated on Sunday, October 19, 2003 on National Fallen Firefighters' Day at 12:00 noon, in honor of all firefighters who died in the line of duty.

The memorial is one firefighter consoling another firefighter who is clutching the helmet of a brother firefighter, lost in the line of duty.

This page is a tribute to all of those firefighters who died in the line of duty to help a complete stranger.

While I've been creating my site and the fire apparatus and stations, I've checked out the sites of other great Lego FD's.  Some had a firefighters' memorial and others didn't.  Those that had a memorial had memorials that were very similar.  That similarity was the white firefighter angel reaching a downed firefighter.  That memorial really hit home with me.  I loved it.  Although I did want a memorial honoring those firefighters that died in the line of duty, I didn't want to copy that memorial.  I wanted something original.  The above is what I came up with.
